Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
A Member of the Stanley Cup winning Montreal squad of 1993, John LeClair is also the first American-born player to score 50 goals in three consecutive seasons. This Pittsburgh Penguins alternate captain’s jersey was worn by the power forward in the first period of the Oct 8th 2005 contest vs Boston. Size tagging including handwritten “10” sits affixed to the collar, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring a clean and attractive Penguins team crest, the solid black V-neck has been embellished with oversized and textured triple-twill numbers and name-on-nameplate, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. The team patch from Cutting Edge resides on the inside hem, and it denotes this garment as a “Katrina Hurricane Relief” example. An LOA will accompany.
With no discernible game-wear present, the jersey remains in gorgeous condition. We should also note that the game this jersey was worn in also featured Sidney Crosby in his first regular season NHL game ever played in Pittsburgh.
