Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Alexander Ovechkin was a highly touted prospect when he was selected first overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, and rightfully so, as the Russian star can now claim six scoring titles, along with numerous awards and accolades after 11 NHL seasons. This helmet was worn by the phenom in 2009-10. A solid white CCM model with all padding and strapping intact, all identifiers have been screened-on, with matching Capitals decals over the upper portion of each side. A dual-colour “8” has been centered along the reverse, with an additional Washington decal present near the left ear opening. There is also an "April 21, 2009" production date sticker inside the helmet beneath the interior padding. An LOA along with a COR from MeiGray will accompany.
Visible game-wear includes just a few marks and abrasions present, with the helmet surviving in absolutely gorgeous condition, ideal for display.
