Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
In this lot we have a pair of QMJHL Shawinigan Cataractes jerseys, including one worn by Phillipe Gelinas in 1999-00. The Gelinas jersey has Bauer size tagging affixed to the collar, with embroidered CHL and Bauer crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with an attractive aboriginal chief team crest, the jersey also sports matching Shawinigan patches over both shoulders. Game-wear is heavy, with a number of dark marks on both sleeves along with board burns with small resulting holes. There is also some heavy pilling on the upper left sleeve. The second Cataractes jersey from the late-1980s sports Maska Ultrafil tagging with handwritten size “54”, along with embroidered CCM and CHL crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with dual-colour tackle twill numbers including “37” on verso, the jersey shows nice game-use with dark marks on the front and left sleeve, along with areas of red paint transfer on both sleeves. There are also a few small team repairs where the former nameplate was removed.
