Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
With five seasons played since the NHL returned to the River City, it’s safe to say judging from the enthusiasm in the ‘Peg that the honeymoon is not over. This lot contains a large collection of items that all pertain to the Winnipeg Jets. We have programs (38), yearbooks (3), buttons (18), pens (5), pins (34), stickers (100+) and a family cookbook! The programs start in the WHA with one example from 1973-74, and 4 from 1977-78. Next we have 11 from 1979-80, 4 from 1980-81, 1 from 1981-82, a pair from 1982-83, a single copy from 1986-87 and 1987-88, 2 from 1988-89, 4 from 1989-90 and half a dozen from 1990-91. There is also a program from 1978 from the International Series, with the Jets taking on Soviet Dynamo. The yearbooks are from 1991-92, 1992-93 and 1993-94, while the neat cookbook with recipes from Jets families is from 1986-87. Most of the programs have been heavily read, with none remaining in high grade. They exhibit regular handling wear, but have not been overly abused. Some examples have been scored. The buttons all appear in nice condition and hail from the late-1970s, and included are Hedberg, Hull, Lindstrom, Lukowich, Ruskowski, Mattson, Amodeo and others. The pens total five and feature the new logo for 1990-91. The stickers include a number of both the old 1980s style, and the newer logo they went to in 1990-91. Lastly, the majority of the pins remain sealed, with examples from the early-1990s, along with “Goals for Kids” pins.
