This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Cool memento from HOF goalie Ed Belfour’s personal collection conjures up fond memories of Canada’s first Olympic gold medal in men’s hockey in 52 years at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Offered is Belfour’s Salt Lake City 2002 participant’s pin from the XIX Olympic Winter Games. Featuring the five Olympic rings superimposed across the handle of a torch, the gold-plated alloy pin displays “2002” below its stylized flame. No. “130487” and manufacturer “Bertoni” and “Milano” are stamped on the reverse. The number also appears on the paper insert and the plastic label on the bottom of the front cover of the white vinyl case featuring the Olympic rings. Comes with Ed Belfour’s signed LOA.
The pin’s included original case displays the GDE Bertoni Italy logo inside in gold lettering like the Olympic rings on the snap-front cover. “Ed Belfour (IHM) 130487” reads a label sticker affixed to the back of the pin’s case.
