Leading the scoring race for the majority of the 2002-03 NHL season, Mario Lemieux missed most of the games towards the end of the season, and finished with an especially impressive 91 points in 67 games. This would be the superstars final hurrah, seeing action in only 36 games spread over his final two NHL seasons in 2003-04 and 2005-06. We have a video and photo-matched Penguins captain's jersey worn by Magnificent Mario in 2002-03. A label with “56” sizing and handwritten "66", "2" and "C" is affixed to the collar along with a Pens “Game Worn Authentic” tag signed by equipment manager Steve Latin, with CCM and NHL crests over the reverse neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with the classic Penguins team crest in tackle twill, “66” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with alternate crests over each shoulder. Sporting great game-use with a number of dark marks to the front and right sleeve, there is a large paint transfer burn mark near the left elbow, with additional burns with small resulting holes on the lower right sleeve. Four included hockey cards have been matched to one or more of the followings traits on each card; the small black mark just below the team crest (under lifted leg), the large black mark also underneath the team crest and the black mark at the bottom left of the team crest (stick side). The jersey is also video-matched to the November 30th 2002 Boston at Pittsburgh game (DVD included) which shows the large black mark underneath the team crest. An LOA from the Penguins and COR from MeiGray will accompany.
