Named captain of the Montreal Canadiens in 1975 following the retirement of Henri Richard, Yvan Cournoyer was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy in 1973 for his performance as the most valuable player during the playoffs. We have a stick used by the HOFer in 1975-76. Fittingly, a Canadien model with graphics in Habs colours, “12 Cournoyer” graphics appear, with a date stamp of "10 Dec 1975". Featuring a shaved handle along with a slightly curved blade, the stick retains its black tape on the handle and blade, with the striping accent missing. Great use is exhibited on the lumber, including wear and tears to the taped section of blade along with marks and darkening to the shaft.
