Drafted 51st overall by the New York Rangers in 2008, Derek Stepan would jump into the Rangers lineup right away and remain a centrepiece of the franchise for a total of seven (7) seasons. The first Ranger to score a hat trick in his NHL debut, offered here is this New York Rangers “Heritage” jersey worn by the blueshirts fan favourite during the 2011-12 season. Made by Reebok, a partially sewn over size “56” label is affixed to the inner collar with a Rangers barcode having been placed directly above and “Established 1926 sublimated into the collar, while NHL and Reebok crests decorate the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with “New York” placed diagonally across the chest in red-over-white tackle twill, Derek’s number “21” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Stepan” across the affixed arching nameplate in single beige twill. Showing light-to-moderate game-use, a handful of board burns are seen over the sleeves and the right side of the jersey, with burns near the right armpit and cuff resulting in unrepaired holes. Wear not associated with game-use is also seen on the jersey with dried residue seen over the front and left sleeve as well as the reverse. The interior hem featured the numbers that the Rangers franchise has retired throughout their history while a Steiner hologram is affixed inside the fight strap and is accompanied by a matching COA.
Regarding the photo-matches, Getty Image #140120585 (February 19th, 2012 vs Columbus) has been matched to the burn on the right shoulder seam and mark on the back of the right shoulder as well as the loose threads coming off the “O” and “R” in “York” while Getty Image #140120582 (February 19th, 2012 vs Columbus) has been matched to a burn above the numbers of the right sleeve.
