This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Charming memento from the famous '72 Summit Series, these Russian nesting dolls are one of the various size wooden dolls similar to those ones given to Team Canada players by their Soviet counterparts prior to Game 4 of the Series, played in Vancouver on September 8, 1972. Dennis Hull recalls that he brought back these example as a souvenir from his trip over to Moscow as Canada played the final four games of the spectacular series on Russian soil. Thin wooden two-piece hand-painted dolls have vibrant colors, the tallest one stands 6 1/2" high and opens to reveal three smaller dolls inside. Aside from minor scuffing, they remain in beautiful condition. Originally from the collection of Team Canada member Dennis Hull and comes with a Classic Auctions letter of authenticity.
