Finishing second in the Canadian Division with a record of 23-18-7, the 1931-32 Toronto Maple Leafs would defeat the Chicago Black Hawks, Montreal Maroons and New York Rangers to claim their first Stanley Cup as the Maple Leafs and the third in franchise history. The season also marked the first played by the club in the newly built Maple Leaf Gardens. Hailing from that historic club, we offer this stand-up photo display of the 1931-32 Maple Leafs. Displaying portrait style images of names like Clancy, Horner, Day, Jackson, Chabot, Bailey, Primeau and Conacher along with Conn Smythe and Dick Irvin, the piece measures 13 ¾” x 11 ¾”. Surviving with surface wear, moisture damage, creasing, edge and corner wear, a large crease is observed down the middle of the piece from having been folded while most of the original easel on the back is missing. The reverse of the piece also features a stamp from the Super Art Company in Toronto that lists the original prices of the item. Although not perfect, the piece is seldomly seen and would make a welcome addition to any advanced Maple Leafs or pre-war based collection.
