A trio of O-Pee-Chee’s hockey sets from the late-1980s housed in albums in 9-pocket pages is what awaits the winning bidder here.
The 264-card 1987-88 issue is complete and the set contains over 40 rookie cards including those of 42-Robitaille, 123-Oates, 243-Damphousse, 233-Richer, 227-Lemieux, 215-Vernon, 169-Hextall, 13-Ranford, 7-Tikkanen and 2-Tocchet with all of the aforementioned cards having NM or so characteristics. Cards of Hall of Famers 53-Gretzky, 15-Lemieux (light corner wear), 163-Roy and 56-Yzerman are also in the same condition range which is generally reflected in the cards housed in the 9-pocket pages.
The 1988-89 set also has 264 cards and also contains numerous first cardboard appearances including those of 122-Shanahan, 194-Turgeon and 16-Nieuwendyk having NM attributes while the rookie card of 66-Hull has a small spot of paper loss on its front otherwise looking good. Card 94-Burke has wear to all corners while card 116-Roy has two small dents or factory defects along its upper edge. Card 1-Lemieux has light wear to its upper corners/top edge and what seems to be an elastic mark bump in the upper area of the left edge while 120-Gretzky is in the EX-MT to NM range and has an off-centered back. The remainder of the cards housed in 9-pocket pages are generally in EX-MT, EX-MT to NM and NM conditions.
Completing the trio is the 330-card 1989-90 set featuring the rookie cards of 113-Sakic, 136-Leetch and 232-Fleury all having NM characteristics which seems to be generally the case with the cards housed in the 9-pocket pages in the album.
