Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Leaders and fan favourites of their respective teams, Jean Beliveau and Frank Mahovlich led the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs to a total of 13 Stanley Cup championships between 1956 and 1969, with both proudly featured here on the front of their 1958-59 Parkhurst hockey cards. Falling in sequential order as number 33 and 34 in the set, the write-up on the back of Beliveau’s card talks about his disappointing previous season that saw him not post 30 goals for the first time in four years while Manovich’s card speaks of him developing into a star player in the National Hockey League. Both graded by PSA many years ago, each card was deemed worthy of a pleasing NM 7 mark from the company, with both appearing with nice white backgrounds and nice centering while showing light touches of wear to their corners. Both PSA holders remain in excellent condition showing light scratches over each side with the Mahovlich holder having an additional light scuff over the front as well.
