Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023

Gorgeous unblemished surfaces are most striking upon examination of these alluring 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee cards, with examples in the EX-MT to NM range forming a sizeable majority and lesser percentages of better/worse involved. Other than the less-than-perfect centering, there is little to find fault with Ken Dryden’s key rookie card (NM), while unfortunate is the apparent ink transfer in the middle right border of Guy Lafleur’s RC (o/w NM+). A majority of 1st series representatives have side-to-side centering that mirrors that of the Dryden RC, including 100-Orr (NM), while Bobby’s 251-All-Star card (EX-MT) and 263-Beliveau Special (EX-MT+) are amid the intermittent 2nd series examples with a slight registration or ink bleeding issue. Marcel Dionne’s rookie (EX-MT), 245-Orr Norris/Hart (EX-MT+) and 262-Howe Special (NM) are also notable, as are the two unmarked checklists; 111-1st Series is sent to EX by dings to two (left) corners and an upper edge, with 264-2nd Series at EX+. Just five creased cards (1-Popiel, 2-Bouchard RC and three commons) were observed. Carrying much appeal, this mostly-high-grade assembly should please you upon its delivery.
