Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club’s comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
The first NHL hockey club to celebrate their 100th anniversary, the Montreal Canadiens honoured the milestone with a number of festivities and items produced in 2009 including these large centennial stamp displays. Hailing directly from the archives of the famous club and most likely displayed at the Bell Centre, one display features an oversized Canada Post centennial stamp, while the other sports the banners of retired Habs players along with images of Beliveau, Lafleur and the Rocket stamps. Each display is approx 36” x 46”, and we should note the example with the banners is warped along the backing, with this affecting the metal rim and sides. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
