A start to a colorful set of 1971-72 Topps basketball cards up for grabs here is dominated by crease-free EX-or-better cards, with the average easily EX. Several of the set's key cards are not present, but the lineup does include rookie cards of Rick Barry (EX), Bob Lanier (EX+ (OC)), Dave Cowens (EX+), Nate Archibald (EX), Spencer Hayward (EX-MT+) and Rudy Tomjanovich (EX), with Pete Maravich (VG-EX+) leading the star power. Also notable are #s 2-Bradley, 10-Baylor, 35-Havlicek, 65-Frazier, other stars, a few leader cards and an unmarked 144-Checklist (EX+ (ST)). Two dozen duplicates include Frazier and 80-Wilkens. Fourteen cards from '70-71 are in similar condition and include 148-Sloan RC, 150-Reed and three NBA Finals action cards (169, 170, 175), while another 20 are low grade throw-ins with a pinhole and/or writing on the front.
A rough cut on the Rick Barry rookie can be seen along part of the bottom edge (left corner region) when viewing the back, while the other better '70-71s are #s 118, 119, 124, 132, 147, 149, 155, 164, 167 and 169.
