Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club's comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
Sometimes dubbed the “Babe Ruth of Hockey”, Morenz is one of the most iconic players in the history of the Canadiens franchise and here we have a colourized shot of him that has been mounted onto a wood display. There are a few scuffs and marks on the front and corners of the display as to be expected from hanging in one of hockey's holy temples, but it will look great in your home or office. On the back, there is some writing in grease pencil. However, this will in no way take away from your enjoyment of this unique piece. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens, this framed display was likely displayed at the Montreal Forum and possibly at the Molson Centre/Bell Centre. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
