Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club's comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
Hector “Toe” Blake is regarded as one of the greatest names in the history of the Canadiens franchise and his contributions on and off the ice resulted in Stanley Cup championships as a player and coach. Offered here is a fine framed photo display featuring an on-ice portrait of the Hall of Famer, with the modern print matted. The frame does have some white paint on top and some minor wear on the front of the frame and its corners. The white paint should not be visible when hung. On the back, there are some holes which were made when the display was mounted along with removable grooved plastic pieces that helped hold it in place. Additionally, it should be noted that there is some water staining to the backing paper, but this should in no way take away from your enjoyment of this unique piece. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens, this framed display was likely displayed at the Montreal Forum and possibly later on at the Molson Centre/Bell Centre. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
