Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Highly impressive collection of blue Sharpie autographs fabulously executed on desirable cards put out in 1992 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the epic Canada-Russia Summit Series, these are not cards pulled from packs but rather a collection painstakingly assembled by our consignor over the years. Leading the way is the autograph of then Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau on a card picturing him performing the official series-opening face-off in Montreal! There are two of series hero Paul Henderson, including one with a "GWG 72" notation, Dryden, Cournoyer, the Esposito brothers, the Mahovlich brothers (on the same card), Tretiak, Clarke, F. Mahovlich, Savard, Lapointe, Park, Ratelle, Gilbert, Mikita, Perreault, Dionne, Sinden, Stapleton, White, Hull, Ellis, Parise, Berenson, Awrey, Seiling, Glennie, Johnston, Hadfield, Cashman, Redmond, Martin, Guevremont and Dave Tallon.
The signatures are bold and flawless throughout, with light wear to the cards themselves. An additional 75 unsigned cards from the set are also included.
