Led by Wayne Gretzky’s massive 196 points, the Edmonton Oilers would finish in first place in the Smythe Division at the conclusion of the 1982-83 NHL season. Despite the scoring prowess of the young club, the veteran New York Islanders were too much to handle for Gretzky and company, blanking the Oilers in the Stanley Cup finals. This lot offers a desirable collection of Edmonton Oilers ticket stubs from the 1982-83 season totaling 26, with The Great One factoring heavily in most contests. Wayne would account for 48 points including 16 goals and 32 assists in all 26 games. This includes 4 3-point games, 2 4-point games and 2 5-point games (Feb 4 and March 19). Other important tickets include Mark Messier’s 100th NHL Assist (Oct 5), Paul Coffey’s 100th NHL Assist (Dec 17), Wayne Gretzky’s 400th NHL Assist (Jan 23), Glenn Anderson’s 100th NHL Goal (Jan 29), and Gretzky’s record 125th assist of the season (April 3). The majority of the ticket stubs remain in pleasing condition with a rough torn edge, with the majority also sporting staple holes.
