Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
The second installment of the popular tournament, the 2004 edition of the World Cup of Hockey witnessed yet another dominant performance from Team Canada, with our nation going undefeated while being crowned tournament champions. This 2004 World Cup Team Canada jersey modeled after the 1920 Olympic gold medal-winning Winnipeg Falcons was worn by Joe Thornton in the August 31st match against the Americans. Size “58” labeling from Nike sits affixed to the collar, with an embroidered Nike crest over the reverse neckline. Featuring a gorgeous two-tone red maple leaf team crest with “Canada” embroidered, the international garment has been accented with black twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Canada” heat-pressed across the sewn nameplate. Matching Winnipeg Falcons crests are also present, placed over each shoulder, with a Nike bar code numbered “46090” heat-pressed to the inside hem. An LOA from Hockey Canada will accompany.
Worn for just a single contest, game-use is light as expected, with just a few small random marks visible.
