Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Scoring the pivotal game-winning goal that demoralized the Americans and secured Canada’s first Olympic gold medal in half a century, Joe Sakic would score four points during the final match vs the US at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, more than enough to earn tournament MVP honours. From the gold medal-winning 2002 Games in Salt Lake City, we have a Team Canada practice jersey worn by the superstar. A sewn-down Nike label with “54” sizing is affixed, with an embroidered swoosh logo over the front of the collar and IIHF crest on the reverse hem. Featuring a tackle twill Hockey Canada team crest, “19” appears over the verso in single white twill with “Sakic” across the upper reverse in matching material. An LOA from Hockey Canada will accompany.
Showing nice game-use, there are marks over the lower front along with a few additional examples along with faint burns over each sleeve.
