Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

Beating out Sidney Crosby for rookie of the year honours in 2006, Alexander Ovechkin was selected for the NHL First All-Star Team in each of his first five seasons. We have an original signed painting of the superstar, executed by artist Bernard Pelletier in 2007. At 22” x 28”, a charming image of the future Hall of Fame member in full game-action is depicted, with a wonderful portrait added over the upper left, with the Russian all smiles. The famous Calder Trophy is also well-executed, with Alex adding an attractive and flowing black marker signature over the white section of his Capitals’ jersey. With a bit of edge/corner wear, there is also a thin line visible over the portrait image, with dated photos of Ovechkin signing this very work included.
