Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2006-07 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders.
Seeing action with five different NHL clubs and currently under contract to the DEL’s Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers, Tom Gilbert spent a pair of seasons in hockey city with the Habs, seeing action in 117 games. We have a Canadiens jersey that was worn by Gilbert during the 2014-15 NHL season. A size “58” CCM label is affixed to the collar with handwritten “2”, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring the famous CH team crest partially-embroidered, the “Away Set 2” V-neck has been accented with tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Gilbert” across the nameplate in single blue twill. The jersey also sports the Jean Beliveau memorial patch over the right breast. Game use includes a few marks over each sleeve including a nice size stick mark over the left elbow, with a few minor board burns over the right. The team patch (A03476) sits on the inside hem, while a hologram numbered “GU11086” from the Canadiens has been affixed to the second reverse “7”.
