Considered one of the most powerful teams of all time, the 1951-52 Detroit Red Wings, along with other Detroit representatives, are among those featured in this splendid group of Group 2 Bee Hive photos. Howe, Abel, Lindsay, Kelly, Sawchuk, Hall and Delvecchio lead the star power, while more notable among the valuable/desirable pictures are the likes of Doug Barkley, Jim Enio, Larry Hillman, Eddie Litzenberger, Rod Morrison, Jimmy Peters, Vic Stasiuk, Jack Stewart, John Bucyk and Bud Poile, the latter two photos on obvious replacement backings, which however are at a minimum. Four photos appear on either red or blue backings; Horeck, Pavelich, Quackenbush and Reise. All variations are present, with only the rarest of Red Wing Group 2s not present; Jim Conacher and Fern Gauthier (as Jerry Couture). Like the rest of the fab collection, Detroit picture ensembles are in appealing collectible condition, with lighter corner and edge wear and the odd crease to the backings which have, for the vast majority, problem-free backs. No real unsightly examples have been spotted – those types were not worthy! Other notables to have skated on Olympia ice include Arbour, Faulkner, Gadsby, Leswick, Pronovost and Ullman. A Red Wings fanatic will have a blast with these!
