Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2011
Desirable V-145s include the captivating images of some of hockey’s all-time greats but were glued back in the day into a lined notebook, the blue-lined paper still clinging to the backs. The rookie cards of Ottawa’s Frank “King” Clancy and Montreal’s Aurele Joliat (misspelled “Auriel”) are most notable and crease-free, with however both, like the rest, slightly warped by the glue, with soiling also affecting the Clancy. The run of numbers 1-14 also includes the RCs of Hall-of-Famers Frank Nighbor, George Boucher, Cy Denneny and Sylvio Mantha, with HOFers Eddie Gerard, Jack Darragh, Clint Benedict, Harry Broadbent, Sprague Cleghorn and Joe Malone also present, along with #16-Billy Boucher. What a legendary lineup!
