Winning three straight James Norris Trophy’s from 1963-65 as the league’s best defenceman, Pierre Pilote would play 890 games in the NHL, with all but 69 matches played with the Chicago Black Hawk, winning a Stanley Cup with the Windy City club in 1961. Offered here, is this signed stick that was used by Pilote during the mid-1960s as a member of the Black Hawks. A Northland Custom Pro model with “Pilote” stamped to the shaft, his number “3” is stamped in blue to upper shaft. Sporting blacked out “Gunzo’s” stamps on each side of the shaft, the stick retains its original tape job of white over the handle/knob and black over the blade. Exhibiting good game-use, numerous puck and stick marks are observed over both sides of the blade and shaft with chips and cuts also being seen. The toe of the stick shows small cracks and chips as well. Additionally, Pilote has signed the shaft with a signature in fine black marker with the autograph appearing without issue. Of note, the inscription reading “To Bill Best Regards” was originally done in pen but was traced over in black to match the signature. The signature was not traced over.
