In the post-War NHL, the Canadiens were always serious contenders for the Stanley Cup and this lot of 34 signed 1945-54 Quaker Oats Photos includes some of the biggest names in franchise history. Highlighted by tougher autographs from Toe Blake (d. 1995) and Buddy O’Connor (d. 1977), this lot is packed with other legends like Maurice Richard (d. 2000), Jean Beliveau (d. 2014), Elmer Lach (d. 2015), Dickie Moore (d. 2015), Butch Bouchard (d. 2012), and Bernie Geoffrion (d. 2006). Overall, the condition on the photos will vary from fair to excellent and only two of the players are still with us today. This is a perfect lot for a Habs fan who wants a connection to an incredible era of the game!
The remainder of the lot features men that proudly wore the Canadiens crest on their chests and each made contributions to the club’s on-ice success. Look for signed photos of Gerry McNeil (d. 2004), Ken Reardon (d. 2008), Hal Laycoe (d. 1998), Bert Olmstead (d. 2015), Floyd Curry (d. 2006), Jim Peters (d. 2006), Billy Reay (d. 2004), Tom Johnson (d. 2007), Vern Kaiser (d. 2011), Leo Gravelle (d. 2013), John McCormack (d. 2017), Rip Riopelle (d. 2013), Robert Fillion (d. 2015), Ed Dorohoy (d. 2009), Normand Dussault (d. 2012), Calum MacKay (d. 2001), Paul Meger (d. 2019), Dollard St. Laurent (d. 2015), Tod Campeau (d. 2009), Ken Mosdell (d. 2006), Dick Gamble (d. 2018), Dutch Hiller (d. 2005), Gerry Plamondon (d. 2019), Grant Warwick (d. 1999), Paul Masnick, and George Robertson.
