Jacques Plante Auction March 2006
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/28/2006
From the World Hockey Association’s final season comes this white mesh Nordiques jersey worn by forward Alain Coté, who would go on to wear the Quebec colors proudly for 10 NHL seasons. Sandow SK company tag is in the neck while the Nords crest, Alain’s number “19”s on the back and sleeves, and the fleur-de-lys flowers are all screened-on. A darker blue “Cote” is heat-pressed onto a mesh nameplate. Good game use is evidenced by over 20 black stick marks on the front and back, with more on each sleeve. A couple of black hook marks are joined by some red paint transfer and a half-inch burn on the lower back, near the right seam. Good pilling around the knit collar and a pair of scrapes in the blue hem stripe are also of note. A fine piece of Nords/WHA history.
