Highly significant Stanley Cup finals program is from Saturday, April 16, 1949, the night the Toronto Maple Leafs made hockey history by beating the Detroit Red Wings 3-1 to sweep the series and become the first NHL team to win three consecutive Stanley Cup titles. The Leafs also set a record by winning their 9th straight game in the finals as Cal Gardner scored the Cup-winning goal at 19:45 of the 2nd period. The Leafs 3-peat matched that of the Ottawa Senators 44 years earlier. As an added bonus, the 80-page program loaded with the Toronto's usual great content, has legendary Bill Barilko pictured on the cover. Program grades a nice collectible "VG" with no marking or tears. Creasing and wear is at the spine area with a couple of pencil marks on the cover to mention. Thought-provoking piece of hockey history.
