Hockey observers who were not yet aware of John Tonelli's "value" to a hockey team sure had their eyes opened during the 1984 Canada Cup! Tonelli's incredibly tenascious, determined and inspiring play was something to behold during the tournament. The big left winger totalled 9 points and was named MVP of the tourney. All this after initially declining his invitation to training camp because he thought he wasn't good enough! John's red knit Team Canada jersey has three overlapping tags in the neck; one bearing theCanada Cup '84 logo, a CCM/Maska tag with size "54" added in ballpoint and a "84 07" manufacturer's tag. "Tonelli" across the nameplate and John's "27" are in tackle twill and sewn-on. A cloth fight strap is in the tail and a CCM patch is sewn on the rear hem. Nice game use includes 10 black stick marks on the front, a few more on the sleeves, a small burn at the right elbow and another along the back hem. Significant jersey from a memorable performance will be accompanied by a LOA
