The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
Considered by many of his era as the first superstar of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Charlie Conacher has his spot in the Hall of Fame along with brothers Lionel and Roy and few will dispute that Charlie was the best hockey player in the family. The 1930's were his time; 5 times between 1930 and 1936 he led or tied for the NHL goal-scoring lead while forming the famous "Kid Line" with Joe Primeau and Busher Jackson. This 5" x 7" yellow letterhead from Dominion Bridge Steel Frame Scaffold was penned in ballpoint by Conacher "To Ian McCourt Kindest Personal Regards, Chas. Conacher". Nice big flowing signature of this Leafs legend who lost his battle with cancer in 1967.
