The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005

Splendid minor league sweater shows the wear and tear of the old Eastern Hockey League in which Greensboro had perennial success. Green dureen jersey has double-knit cream shoulders which are adorned by 10 yellow and green tackle twill stars. "Generals" across the front and the "9"s on the front and back are also in tackle twill and sewn-on. Tie-neck style jersey was repaired several times; 2 nickel-size repairs on the front have cloth on the underside, as do 3 dime-size jobs on the back. The two elbow areas, especially the right, are a mess with tons of stitching and cloth reinforcements. Some 15 holes throughout went unrepaired including a 1-inch by 2-inch affair on the back. Untagged jersey still exhibits vibrant colors and is worthy of an important vintage minor league sweater collection.
