The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
Exceptional vintage Black Hawks dureen jersey exhibits exceptional use and was worn by popular defenceman Bill White. A Hawks jersey expert has helped us identify the no longer tagged jersey as an example of uniforms worn by the Hawks in the ‘72 playoffs and ‘72-73 regular season. Stitching in the neck area reveals two tags were originally there. We count a dozen team repairs on the front as well as two long tears/runs that were pulled together by stitching which has also taken care of three rips in the "2" on the back. The sleeves are a lovely mess with 16 repairs on the right and 8 on the left. The face of the Indian head logo shows wear and is thinning in places. Significant interior pilling throughout and more on the outer sleeves is also of note. Fantastic old Hawks jersey is being offered to the hobby for the first time and will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity.
