The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
Special piece of Maple Leafs history here with the stick that Darryl Sittler used to break Dave Keon's record and become Toronto's all-time leading goal scorer. A memorable night it was as Sittler potted a hat trick to lead the Leafs to a 5-3 win over the visiting Washington Capitals. Darryl's second of the game was #366 and moved him ahead of Keon. The Titan TPM stick later had "All-time Leaf Record" added to the lower shaft in red marker, along with "NHL Goal #'s 365, 366, 367" and the March 14th, 1981 date. Back of the shaft is stamp dated "Mar 2 1981". "Sittler" is stamped just below where the long black taped handle ends and black tape covers the blade. Stick shows significant game use with dozens of black slash marks along the shaft. One of Toronto's all-time most popular hockey heroes autographed the lower shaft in black marker and added "27". Stick remains solid with no cracks while the tape along the bottom of the blade has partially worn through. A LOA will accompany this fantastic memento.
