The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
You can't get any older Maple Leaf contracts than these! They're from the first year that Conn Smythe would have signed players to contracts after taking over the St. Patricks and renaming them the Maple Leafs in February of 1927. These were inked in October of 1927. Clarence "Hap" Day and Art Duncan signed them respectively with NHL President Frank Calder's signature also on each. Duncan's salary was $4000 and Day's $5000, with a $500 bonus for acting as team captain! Super intriguing pieces of Leafs/hockey history are in excellent condition.
