The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005

Classic navy blazer was presented to Lorne "Gump" Worsley upon his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1980. In a pro career that spanned an incredible 25 years, the Gumper is reported to have played a total of 6 games with a face mask! Worsley is actually the last Hall-of-Famer to play without a mask. The trade that sent him from the Rangers to the Canadiens revitalized his career and he went on to play an important part in four Stanley Cup championships with the Habs while sharing two Vezina trophies. Gump chalked up 43 career shutouts in 860 regular season games and finished with a 2.91 goals-against-average. Worsley's Hall of Fame sports jacket has WM. H. Leishman and Tip Top Tailers labels in the lining and is a size 44-short. The Hall's glittering embroidered crest adorns the left breast pocket. Blazer is in great shape, showing very little wear. Representing over two decades of puck-stopping, the terrific jacket will come with Gump Worsley's signed LOA.
