The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
As a 4-time Stanley Cup champion with the Montreal Canadiens in the 1960's, Gump Worsley was honored to be part of the grandiose closing ceremonies of the fabled Montreal Forum in March of 1996, as well as part of the festivities surrounding the opening of the Molson Centre a few days later. This is the Habs jersey the Gumper wore during the two memorable events. The classic red knit Canadiens shirt has a Maska Ultrafil tag in the neck with size "54" added in ballpoint while the CCM and NHL logos are embroidered into the rear hem. Issued with a fight strap, the jersey has a sewn-on tackle twill tri-color crest, numbers and "Worsley" across the nameplate. Gump autographed the "1" on the back in blue marker and will also sign a letter of authenticity that will be included with this special jersey.
