The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
A participant of four NHL All-Star games during his career, popular St. Louis Blues defenceman Barclay Plager wore this orange and black knit jersey in the 1973 game at New York's Madison Square Garden. Greg Polis of the Penguins scored a pair of goals and earned MVP honors as the East edged the West 5-4. A Gerry Cosby tag appears in the neck along with a washing instructions tag which had "50" added in ballpoint. Everything is sewn-on here including the big embroidered NHL crest on the front and "Plager" across the back (no nameplate). Obvious game use with a black mark below the NHL crest, another along the front hem and a slash mark on each sleeve. Desirable all-star gamer is in stunning condition and was a gift to Noel Picard from Barclay Plager's wife after Plager succumbed to cancer in 1988. Noel Picard's signed LOA will be included with this awesome jersey.
