The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
Beautiful white knit All-Star game jersey is tagged in the neck by Gerry Cosby and has "Picard" sewn directly across the back (no nameplate). Although Noel Picard played in the 1969 All-Star Game in Montreal, the "West" stars were still wearing their blue jerseys at the time. This one in fact was not made for Noel, but rather his nephew Robert who broke in with Washington after being picked third overall in the 1977 draft. The NHL at times, would have to do up jerseys for players who were on "standby" because of injuries to players originally selected to play in the All-Star game. We believe this was the case for the 1978 game in which Picard ended up not playing, since no one is listed as having worn number 4 in the game. Crests, patches, numbers and stars are all sewn-on. Jersey has been preserved in outstanding like-new condition and will come with a LOA signed by Noel Picard.
