Philadelphia's "Broad Street Bullies" reached the pinnacle of the hockey world on May 19th, 1974, with a 1-0 win over the Boston Bruins in game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals, becoming the first expansion team to win Lord Stanley's coveted trophy. Defenceman André "Moose" Dupont contributed 4 goals and 3 assists during the Flyers' memorable playoff "run", including an important tying goal in the final minute of game 2, before setting up Bobby Clarke for the game-winner in overtime. It was a pivotal game in the series and a highlight in the Moose's career. Bernie Parent then allowed just 3 goals in the 3 other Flyers' victories and captured the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP. This award featuring a sculpted (clay/plaster) Flyers player with the number "1" on the back of his jersey was presented to André Dupont following Philadelphia's historic victory. The engraving on the metal plate on the 8" x 12" wooden base reads "Presented by the City of Philadelphia to Andre Dupont of the Philadelphia Flyers - Winners of the Stanley Cup 1974 - Frank L. Rizzo, Mayor". The trophy is in excellent condition with repair to the hockey stick where it is held by the left glove. From the grandest time in Flyers' history, the memory-provoking souvenir will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by the one and only Moose Dupont.
