The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
Oh baby, don't the memories start flowing back at the sight of this? This is the Canadiens jersey that Maurice Richard donned during the emotional and memorable torch-passing ceremony which followed the Canadiens' last game at the Montreal Forum, March 11, 1996. Those who were lucky enough to be in the building or who watched on TV will never forget the lengthy and monstrous ovation that the Rocket received, one that in the end overwhelmed the living legend. Everything is sewn on the red knit Habs jersey by CCM, including the Habs crest that Richard autographed and added to his companion Sonia Raymond "A Sonia, bonne chance" (good luck). Also included in this unique lot are invitations from Hartland Molson (one autographed by Richard) to a reception earlier in the day honoring Canadiens Hall-of-Famers, two unused tickets to the final game at the Forum (both auto'd by Richard) and a pair (also unused) to the first game at the Molson Centre. Sensational and tempting lot will be accompanied by a LOA from Sonia Raymond.
