The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
Splendid Easton Aluminum 5100 Pro Balance model stick was used by Wayne Gretzky in the final minutes of the 1993 Stanley Cup finals as Jacques Demers' Montreal Canadiens beat Gretzky's L.A. Kings 4-1 to clinch the Stanley Cup on Montreal Forum ice. Demers then was given the stick by Gretzky and has cherished it since. The knob is specially coded in black marker "P93 #4", "Gretzky" is stamped just below the "Gripper" handle and also on the wooden blade where it connects to the aluminum shaft. Wayne's trademark powdered black tape covers the blade with a little wear along the bottom indeed indicating game use. In outstanding condition and from Jacques Demers' personal collection, it will come with his signed LOA.
