An enthusiastic and positive motivator, coach Jacques Demers received this impressive NHL Coach of the Year award from The Sporting News following the 1985-86 season. In his third year as head coach in St. Louis, Demers led the Blues to a 37-win, 83-point regular season before taking them to the conference finals where they lost a heartbreaking 7-game series to Calgary. A 3 1/2" medallion is encased in Lucite and features three generic hockey players on the back while the front reads "The Sporting News - The First Newsweekly in Sports". Demers' name is engraved on a plaque below along with "1985-86 NHL Coach of the Year". The heavy award is 8" wide and 3 1/2" thick at the base. Jacques Demers' signed LOA will accompany this splendid memento.
