The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
Following three consecutive 50-goal seasons with the Maple Leafs, right winger Rick Vaive was named to Team Canada for the 1984 Canada Cup tournament. Although he wasn't able to make it into the line up for any actual game action, Vaive did come home with this rather massive soap stone carving, one of the bigger ones that we've handled over the years. The picture pretty much tells the story although we can tell you that it measures a big 13" in length and has a height of close to 9". Engraved on the small brass plate on the front is "Coupe Canada Cup". In excellent condition and from Rick Vaive's personal collection, with his signed LOA.
