The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
A "packed" Team Canada in 1984 resulted in the Canadians recapturing the Canada Cup after the Soviets had skated off with the trophy in 1981. Featuring the likes of Gretzky, Messier, Fuhr, Bossy, Bourque, Robinson, Goulet and Stastny, Canada was led by Gretzky's 12 points and the inspirational play of John Tonelli. Although he didn't see any game action after taking part in Team Canada's training camp, Rick Vaive received this gorgeous gold ring for his participation. The tournament's half maple leaf logo is on the face with four diamonds below and "Coupe Canada Cup" arched above. The shanks feature "19" and "84" and the ring is size 10. Showing light wear, the terrific Team Canada memento is in excellent condition and will be accompanied by a LOA signed by Rick Vaive.
