The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
Unfortunately for Canucks' fans, Rick Vaive's career in a Vancouver uniform lasted but 47 games as he was traded with Bill Derlago to the Leafs for Tiger Willaims and Jerry Butler in February of 1980. This combination heavy mesh and knit sweater from Rick's first NHL season has Goodman & Sons and Vanderburg tags sewn in the inner front hem with size "50" being indicated. Everything is sewn-on including the embroidered Canucks shoulder patches, the small "28"s on the lower sleeves and "Vaive" in orange letters across the nameplate. The fight strap is no longer in the tail. Nice game use includes some slash marks in the knit striping on the sleeves, general filth in the "V" on the front, a couple of small unrepaired holes on the right sleeve, another in the black of the left shoulder and two small team repairs on the left sleeve. Classic Canucks gamer was worn by a 400-goal scorer and was obtained from a different source. A LOA will be included with this superb jersey.
