Evidence of Jean Beliveau's immense implication and dedication to numerous causes over the years, as well as his performance on the ice, comes through in this varied lot. We count 27 either wooden plaques or framed/laminated certificates with 25 other loose certificates dating from the 1950's to the ‘90s. Some of the highlights include a big 1972 NY Writers Assn. Al Laney Award for service to hockey, a 1965 open book-like plaque from the "Sportifs du Quebec" for being the first winner of the Conn Smythe trophy, a "Sport Equipe" plaque as Quebec's 1971 Athlete of the Year and a certificate from the Sportmen's Assoc. of Montreal as the city's most outstanding pro athlete for 1956. Others thank Beliveau for his dedication, leadership, friendship, contributions, honorary presidency, service and appearances - you get the picture. An amazing lot from an amazing man.
