This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
Splendid vintage trophy features a hockey player atop five pillars which rise from a metal stand on a 6" in diameter black wooden base. The engraving on the metal plate applied to the base reads "Trophée Cattarinich à Jean Beliveau 1963-64". Named in honor of Joseph Cattarinich, an original Montreal Canadien and later part-owner of the club, the trophy was awarded to Beliveau as Canadiens' Most Valuable Player. The classy center led the Habs in scoring in ‘63-64 and finished third in league scoring behind Mikita and Hull. His performance also earned him the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL's MVP. Standing just over 17" high, the trophy was once displayed at the Hockey Hall of Fame and is in excellent condition. Superb award will come with Jean Beliveau's signed LOA.
