The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
Truly sensational, this huge oil-on-canvas creation is the work of Michel Lapensée, an artist well-known for his hockey portraits and paintings, the latter which have been featured over the years on Montreal Canadiens' annual Christmas cards. Lapensée brushed this masterpiece when the Canadiens named their all-time "dream team" in the mid 1980's. Joining Beliveau were Maurice Richard, Dickie Moore, Doug Harvey, Larry Robinson, Jacques Plante and coach Toe Blake. Painting itself measures approximately 21" x 27" and has been surrounded by a handsome frame. Signed on the front and back by the artist, this awe-inspiring work will be accompanied by a LOA signed by Jean Beliveau and a photo of the legends with their respective paintings.
