The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
Great memories for Montreal fans at the sight of this scarce creation by Canadiens photographer David Bier. Only given to team members, this matte-finish affair pictures the squad which knocked off the powerful Boston Bruins in the 1971 quarter-finals before going on to capture the 10th and final Stanley Cup in Jean Beliveau's playing career. Beliveau orchestrated a miraculous comeback in game 2 of the Boston series, set a playoff record with 16 assists and Conn Smythe-winner Ken Dryden opened the hockey world's eyes as Montreal won its 17th Cup. Beliveau retired with a record 176 playoff points which stood until Wayne Gretzky came along. Rookie coach Al MacNeil and Frank Mahovlich, who set a modern day record with 14 playoff goals are also in this collage which is in near mint condition. Jean Beliveau's signed LOA will accompany this superb memento.
